about our founder​

Our founder and CEO, Paul Maria, is a lifelong resident of Massachusetts. He attended Norwich University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets for four years, earning a BA in History. He went on to work for the Department of Defense for two years before becoming a Police Officer. He attended Western New England College (now Western New England University) where he earned a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. His career in Law Enforcement spanned two decades, serving as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Field Training Officer, and Patrol Sergeant.

While working in those roles, Paul recognized a need for a higher level of professionalism in the Security Guard Industry. He felt that he could provide this type of service at a reasonable rate. His goal when he retired was to make this a reality. He developed our slogan, “Trust only the best to protect what matters most” because he has always felt that the greatest act an individual can perform is to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

In addition to acting as our CEO, Paul enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, target shooting, and giving back to the community. Strongbox Security Services, LLC donates to various local and national organizations each year including: The Knights of Columbus, various local youth sports organizations, local First Responders, several Veteran’s groups, and families local to the areas we service.
